Call for Applications: Agora Policy Writing Fellowship 2026 for Early- to Mid-Career Professionals

Applications are now open for the Agora Policy Writing Fellowship 2026, a three-month, non-residential program designed to strengthen participants’ capacity to research, analyze, and develop impactful policy papers that address Nigeria’s pressing governance and development challenges.

The fellowship is part of Agora Policy’s Policy Support, Deepening, and Engagement (PSDE) Project,  supported by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. It reflects a strong commitment to advancing evidence-based policymaking, deepening public discourse, and fostering informed civic engagement across the country.

Why This Fellowship Matters
At a time when Nigeria faces complex governance and development issues,  from economic reforms and insecurity to education, gender inclusion, and climate change, the need for credible, data-driven policy analysis has never been greater. The Agora Policy Writing Fellowship seeks to fill this gap by nurturing a new generation of thinkers, researchers, and advocates who can shape national conversations with facts, insight, and clarity.

Fellows will gain hands-on experience in crafting policy documents that are both practical and influential, while also learning how to engage policymakers, media, and the public effectively. By the end of the programme, participants are expected to produce a well-researched policy paper and present it for public engagement and feedback.
