This nine month long fellowship seeks to advance women’s health in Africa by providing training and support to 20 female scholars based in Africa and working on addressing women’s health problems. Participants will receive mentoring and training in data science and scientific writing. Participants must be pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree, or be a post graduate researcher working on women’s health. Participants should also have a draft of a first authored research paper. The selected fellows will use the skills learned from this fellowship to advance their careers, publish in scientific journals and contribute to their field. The second cohort will consist of researchers in East and Southern Africa. The Data Science to Advance Women’s Health Fellowship is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be women aged 20 and above.
- Must be from Eastern or Southern Africa.
- Must be a master’s or doctoral student, or a postgraduate researcher working on women’s health topics.
