Youth4Local Government Accountability Workshop, an initiative under the Local Government Accountability and Performance (LGAP) project implemented by TurnUp Jigawa.
This workshop is designed to train and empower youth leaders across Jigawa State in local governance monitoring, budget tracking, and effective policy advocacy. 54 outstanding young leaders, two from each of the 27 Local Government Areas of Jigawa State will be selected to serve as champions of accountability within their respective communities.
Program Highlights:
- Budget Tracking & Monitoring: Learn how to track local government spending and assess performance effectively.
- Policy Advocacy: Participants will acquire practical skills to promote transparency, strengthen accountability mechanisms, and combat corruption within their local communities.
- Civic Engagement: Learn how to organize town hall meetings and bridge the gap between citizens and local government officials.
- Network Building: Join a state-wide network of “Youth Accountability Trackers”.
