The Dangote Group has announced its participation in the upcoming Kano International Trade Fair scheduled for November 22 to December 6, 2025, reaffirming its long-standing commitment to business development and broader regional market expansion.
The company confirmed that it will serve as a sponsor and active participant in the event, which is projected to feature over a thousand exhibitors from Nigeria and other countries. A senior company official emphasized Kano’s importance to Dangote’s operations, describing the city as one of Africa’s busiest commercial centres. Kano is also the site of one of the company’s major rice milling projects currently under construction.
The organisation further disclosed that additional rice mills are being developed in Jigawa, Zamfara, Niger, Kebbi, and Sokoto, with a combined processing capacity of 1.5 million tonnes annually. These investments, it noted, reinforce national initiatives to enhance food security at a time when boosting local production has become increasingly critical for economic stability.
To foster stronger interaction at the fair, the company stated that its subsidiaries will set up dedicated help desks where visitors and entrepreneurs can learn about new business prospects, explore potential collaborations, and make inquiries about the company’s diverse product offerings. During its Special Day at the fair, the firm will also introduce new sugar pack sizes of 100 grams and 25 kilograms to meet evolving consumer and wholesale market preferences.

This year’s trade fair theme, ‘Empowering SMEs for Sustainable Growth,’ aligns closely with the company’s ongoing focus on inclusive enterprise development and national economic resilience. A senior adviser to the conglomerate explained that the sponsorship is intended to provide micro, small, and medium enterprises with a valuable platform to display their products, gain visibility, attract business partners, and access new markets—key components for strengthening Nigeria’s overall economic landscape.
According to the Kano Chamber of Commerce, the event will attract roughly 100 organisations and more than a thousand exhibitors from across Nigeria and other countries. The chamber highlighted upgrades and expansions within the fairground and acknowledged the Dangote Group as a major sponsor and steadfast supporter. It further noted that this year’s edition will broaden its collaboration with the company on SME-focused initiatives, backward integration programs, and the transfer of industrial skills aimed at enhancing domestic production capacity.
The trade fair is anticipated to play a crucial role in widening market access for small businesses, reinforcing regional trade linkages, and spotlighting emerging opportunities throughout northern Nigeria and the broader African commercial landscape.
