EnergyPro, Partners Equip Ibadan Residents With Solar Skills to Drive Renewable Energy Uptake

EnergyPro, working in partnership with Polska Fundacja dla Afryki, has trained and equipped residents of Ibadan with practical competencies in solar system installation, safety procedures and power bank assembly, as part of broader efforts to encourage renewable energy adoption and strengthen technical skills development in Nigeria.

According to the company, the initiative is consistent with its core mission of deploying renewable energy solutions to generate income opportunities, empower individuals and enhance the overall quality of life for Nigerians.

Speaking during the commissioning of EnergyPro’s Ibadan office, the company’s co-founder, Akinmolayan Peter, explained that the programme was conceived as a form of social impact intervention aimed at tackling electricity challenges while providing participants with hands-on, income-generating skills.

“Addressing challenges and empowering people are among the most effective ways to achieve lasting peace,” he said, while encouraging Nigerians to adopt solar energy as a sustainable alternative that is vital to the nation’s economic progress. He added that Nigeria’s economy cannot record substantial growth without access to stable and reliable electricity supply.

Former Oyo State Commissioner, Prof. Raphael Afonja, also spoke at the event, stating that meaningful national development is impossible without adequate power infrastructure. He advised beneficiaries of the training to remain competitive in the market and fully utilise the skills and knowledge gained from the programme.

In his remarks, Prince Abiodun Adeyemi praised EnergyPro for implementing the initiative, describing electricity supply as a critical driver of national development and economic productivity.

Participants who benefited from the programme expressed gratitude to the organisers, noting that the training would strengthen their ability to address both household and commercial energy needs, particularly in the face of ongoing power supply challenges across the country.
