The Federal Government has successfully concluded a three-day intensive entrepreneurship development programme for 250 women and youths in Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State, aimed at fostering self-reliance and promoting small-scale enterprise development.
Held at the Uhonmora Civic Centre, the training focused on the production of disinfectants, bleaching solutions, and odour control products. The hands-on workshop, organised by the National Board for Technology Incubation in partnership with GGF Nigeria Limited, featured a blend of theoretical sessions and practical demonstrations. Participants worked collaboratively in groups to produce various household items under expert supervision.
At the end of the programme, the Federal Government provided each beneficiary with startup capital to enable them to commence local production within their communities.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Lead Consultant, Magbagbeola Abass Adebayo, explained that the initiative was designed to equip participants with relevant technical skills and financial backing necessary for sustainable business growth. He urged the beneficiaries to invest their funds wisely and focus on expanding their enterprises instead of diverting the support to personal use.
Also addressing the participants, Aisha Oladipo encouraged them to apply the knowledge gained during the training to improve their livelihoods, uplift their families, and contribute to community development.
