The Jerry Eze Foundation has disbursed a total of ₦992 million to 240 Nigerian entrepreneurs as part of a nationwide grant initiative aimed at strengthening small businesses, driving innovation, and supporting job creation.
The grant presentation, held in Abuja, brought together stakeholders from the business community, government, and other sectors, highlighting increasing collaboration in supporting entrepreneurship in Nigeria.
According to organisers, the programme attracted over 16,000 applications from across the country. Out of this number, 9,668 applicants successfully completed the process and met the required criteria, while 240 entrepreneurs were selected as beneficiaries. The selection process was handled by an independent consulting firm to ensure fairness and transparency.
Each selected entrepreneur received a grant of $3,000. The funding is expected to support business expansion, improve operations, or enable the launch of new ventures.
The beneficiaries were drawn from sectors considered critical to economic growth, including agriculture, manufacturing, and technology. These sectors continue to play a central role in job creation and national development.
Speakers at the event emphasized the need for entrepreneurs to adopt a growth-focused mindset. They noted that businesses must move beyond subsistence and aim for scalability, innovation, and measurable impact. Entrepreneurs were also encouraged to embrace collaboration and continuous learning as part of their growth strategy.
