The Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, in partnership with the entrepreneurial network Naija Brand Chick, has unveiled the mainland edition of the Lagos Tourism Naija Brand Chick Trade Fair, with the state government setting an ambitious sales target of N5 billion over the three-day event.
Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Idris Aregbe, emphasized that the initiative reflects Lagos State’s unwavering commitment to building a people-driven creative economy that unites innovation, trade, and cultural expression across the state’s five administrative divisions.
Aregbe explained that the trade fair is part of the broader “101 Days in Lagos” tourism and culture calendar — a lineup of entertainment-infused activities designed to stimulate commerce, attract tourists, and strengthen community participation. “We are intentionally using entertainment as a tool to fuel trade, inspired by the nostalgic energy of old Lagos, where markets thrived with music, performance, and social interaction. Our objective is to empower between 100 and 150 vendors and collectively generate N5 billion in sales within three days. It’s an ambitious goal, but we’ve invested considerable effort to make it realistic,” he stated.
He further revealed that extensive months of planning, vendor selection, and marketing coordination have gone into the organization of the fair to guarantee effective logistics and optimal visibility for participating exhibitors. According to Aregbe, the initiative extends beyond commerce—it embodies inclusion, accessibility, and shared prosperity. “We want every Lagosian to connect with this growth story. Prices will be affordable, and the ambiance will mirror the vibrancy, innovation, and energy Lagos is celebrated for,” he added.

Chief Executive Officer of Naija Brand Chick, Nelly Agbogu, commended the Lagos State Government for hosting two editions of the SME-focused event in a single year, describing it as a benchmark for successful public–private collaboration. “This project has become a transformational platform that has empowered numerous entrepreneurs, enhanced brand visibility for small businesses, and reaffirmed Lagos’ dedication to developing a sustainable SME ecosystem. I’m thrilled about what we’ve accomplished together and eager to expand this partnership to unlock even more opportunities for business owners,” she remarked.
The fair, expected to attract thousands of shoppers and exhibitors, will serve as both a commercial and cultural experience — spotlighting indigenous brands, supporting small enterprises, and reinforcing Lagos’ position as Nigeria’s leading hub for creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
