The Lagos State Government has introduced the StartRight Entrepreneurship Development Support Programme, an innovative initiative aimed at equipping startups and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with essential knowledge, strategic guidance, and resources to build sustainable, resilient, and scalable businesses.
Launched by the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, the programme was officially unveiled at the STO Resource Centre in Alausa, Ikeja. Speaking at the event, Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Akinyemi Bankole Ajigbotafe, stated that StartRight underscores the state’s determination to foster an enterprise-driven economy in line with the #GreaterLagos vision.
Ajigbotafe emphasized that while many entrepreneurs focus on starting businesses, the real challenge lies in sustaining and expanding them.
“It is no longer enough to start a business. We must start right, sustain right, and scale right,” he said, highlighting that the initiative is designed to cultivate entrepreneurs capable of thriving in competitive markets and generating employment across the state.
He further reiterated the ministry’s commitment to youth empowerment, access to finance, business incubation, and capacity building, all of which align with the T.H.E.M.E.S Plus development agenda of the Lagos State Government.
