A member of the Lagos State House of Assembly has disbursed ₦36 million to students and small business owners in Kosofe Constituency I, in a move aimed at improving access to education and supporting grassroots enterprise development.
The intervention, delivered through a constituency scholarship and empowerment programme, benefited a total of 360 individuals. Among them were 110 tertiary institution students and 250 micro and small business owners, each receiving ₦100,000.
The disbursement event, held in Lagos, forms part of ongoing efforts to reduce financial barriers faced by students while also providing capital support to small businesses struggling with limited access to funding.
Organisers of the initiative stated that the programme reflects a broader commitment to youth empowerment and economic inclusion at the community level. They noted that supporting students and entrepreneurs simultaneously helps to address both educational access and income generation.
Beneficiaries were drawn from different wards within Kosofe Constituency I through a structured selection process designed to ensure fairness and transparency.
