A total of 100 young graduates from diverse academic disciplines have begun a new Graduate Internship Programme jointly introduced by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Renaissance Africa Energy Company (RAEC) Limited, and the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN). The initiative is designed to empower youths with practical industry skills, technical exposure, and hands-on experience to enhance local content participation within Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
Under the 2025–2027 NCDMB/PETAN/Renaissance Graduate Internship Programme, participants will undergo structured and industry-focused training across PETAN member companies, covering disciplines such as engineering, geology, ICT, natural sciences, and other related fields.
At the official launch ceremony in Port Harcourt, the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Mr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe (represented by Mr. Esueme Dan Kikile, General Manager, Human Capacity Development), reaffirmed that human capacity development remains a fundamental pillar of the Board’s mandate. “Human capacity development stands as the cornerstone of our mission,” he stated, emphasizing that the programme represents a strategic investment in Nigeria’s future workforce and the promotion of indigenous participation in the energy value chain.
Mr. Ogbe lauded Renaissance Africa Energy—formerly Shell Petroleum Development Company—and PETAN for their collaboration and sustained commitment to advancing the nation’s local content development objectives.
