The Federal Government has strengthened its youth empowerment agenda through a strategic collaboration between the Ministry of Youth Development and Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM). The partnership seeks to scale up training, apprenticeship, and enterprise development initiatives with a strong emphasis on Nigeria’s automotive value chain and related industries.
During a working visit to the Innoson manufacturing facility in Nnewi, Anambra State, the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, commended Innoson founder Chief Innocent Chukwuma for his dedication to indigenous innovation, industrial expansion, and job creation. He acknowledged the company’s existing technical training and apprenticeship programmes, which have provided life-changing opportunities for hundreds of young Nigerians, including women breaking new ground as automotive technicians.
Olawande also engaged with the Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Development to reaffirm commitment to the “1 Youth, 2 Skills” initiative, a nationwide campaign designed to equip young Nigerians with practical, income-generating skills that foster innovation, productivity, and self-reliance.
