Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) has reinforced its commitment to small business development by disbursing ₦250 million in grants to 51 entrepreneurs in Rivers State. The funding was awarded following the completion of its 2026 Vocational Innovation and Business Empowerment Scheme (VIBES), a programme designed to strengthen enterprise capacity and support sustainable business growth in host communities.

The VIBES initiative began with the selection of 103 participants from NLNG host communities. These participants had a four-week intensive training programme focused on:

  • Business strategy and management
  • Financial planning and sustainability
  • Entrepreneurial development

The programme was designed to equip participants with the practical skills required to build and manage successful businesses.

NLNG’s leadership highlighted that the grant component plays a critical role in helping entrepreneurs move from knowledge to execution. Many small business owners often struggle to implement ideas due to limited access to capital.

The funding is expected to:

  • Enable business expansion
  • Improve operational efficiency
  • Strengthen market competitiveness

The ₦250 million grant disbursement under the VIBES programme marks a significant step in empowering MSMEs in Rivers State. By combining training with financial support, NLNG is enabling entrepreneurs to scale their businesses and contribute meaningfully to economic development.
