SIFAX Group Uplifts 3,500 Nigerians Through Skills and Empowerment Initiatives

SIFAX Group has positively impacted 3,500 Nigerians by rolling out a range of empowerment programmes covering vocational training, healthcare delivery, and business support schemes between July and August 2025. The interventions, executed through its Ajoke Ayisat Afolabi Foundation (AAAF) in collaboration with various partner organisations, were designed to benefit widows, returnees, persons with disabilities, and emerging entrepreneurs across the country.

As part of the outreach, beneficiaries accessed free healthcare services in Lagos, Isade, and Zaria, while others enrolled in vocational courses spanning tailoring, shoemaking, catering, crocheting, bag-making, and photography. In addition, the foundation undertook community-based projects such as the provision of a borehole facility in Lagos. Working jointly with the World Bank and the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), the foundation also distributed vital relief items to 750 returnees.

The empowerment drive extended to small-scale traders in Umuahia, where participants were trained under a scheme linked to interest-free loans. Similarly, 500 young people in Lagos benefitted from hands-on sessions in confectionery, cosmetics, textile design, event management, and other vocational trades.

At the closing ceremony of the Lagos programme, SIFAX Group’s Head of Corporate Communications, Mr. Olumuyiwa Akande—represented by Mr. Olatunde Adewola—explained that the initiatives were designed to foster sustainable economic empowerment and create pathways for self-reliance.

Also speaking, Mr. Olabiyi Oluwole, Managing Director of NIDSMET Services, highlighted that the scheme has already produced entrepreneurs who have successfully launched businesses and are now generating employment for others.

These interventions demonstrate how integrating vocational skills development with healthcare outreach and small business support can provide vulnerable populations with meaningful opportunities for stability, resilience, and long-term livelihood security.
