Simba TVS Scales Queen Riders Initiative to Back FG Mobility Scheme for 10,000 Women

Simba TVS has expanded its Queen Riders Programme through an enhanced partnership with the Consumer Credit Corporation of Nigeria (CREDICORP) and Gamma Mobility to support the Federal Government’s Mobility Programme. The initiative is designed to economically empower 10,000 women nationwide and further strengthen efforts to increase women’s participation in Nigeria’s commercial transportation industry.

The partnership was officially unveiled in the Federal Capital Territory, where CREDICORP, in collaboration with Gamma Mobility, presented TVS King Deluxe Plus tricycles—commonly referred to as “keke”—along with certificates of proficiency to women who successfully completed training under Simba TVS’ Queen Riders Programme. Through this initiative, beneficiaries were trained as professional tricycle operators, with a strong focus on practical skills development and access to income-generating assets.

The programme seeks to expand access to consumer credit while creating sustainable and dignified livelihood opportunities for women, especially those from underserved and under-represented communities. By integrating asset financing with structured professional training, the initiative is designed to reduce the traditional barriers that have limited women’s entry and growth within the transport sector.

Simba TVS explained that its focus on women is driven by their proven impact as critical contributors to economic growth at both household and community levels. The company described the Queen Riders Programme as a hands-on empowerment framework that delivers riding proficiency, technical and safety knowledge, entrepreneurship guidance, and access to dependable mobility tools required to establish and manage small-scale transport businesses.

According to the company, the tricycles provided under the programme are positioned as productive business assets rather than merely means of transportation. These assets enable beneficiaries to earn consistent income, build sustainable micro-enterprises, and provide financial support for their families. Simba TVS added that the initiative aligns with its broader commitment to inclusive economic growth and long-term participation of women in sectors traditionally dominated by men.

Management of CREDICORP highlighted the longstanding relationship between the corporation and Simba TVS, describing the collaboration as one grounded in shared values and a mutual focus on delivering practical and scalable mobility solutions. The corporation noted that repeated visits to Simba TVS’ assembly plant in Lagos strengthened its confidence in the company’s local manufacturing capacity, adherence to quality standards, and dedication to advancing Nigeria’s industrial development.

The initiative was described as intentionally designed to integrate consumer credit access, asset delivery, professional training, and ongoing business support. Gamma Mobility was identified as playing a critical role in programme implementation and operational coordination, ensuring that beneficiaries are positioned for sustainable success rather than short-term income generation.

Women who benefited from the programme expressed gratitude for the opportunity, stating that the training and support received boosted their confidence to pursue livelihoods they had previously viewed as out of reach. Participants noted that the programme equipped them with essential riding skills and basic vehicle maintenance knowledge, empowering them to contribute more effectively to household earnings and overall economic stability.

The Queen Riders Programme is a women-centred empowerment initiative developed by Simba TVS, offering comprehensive training, certification, and access to tricycles. The programme creates pathways to financial independence for women while contributing to the growth and resilience of Nigeria’s small-business ecosystem within the commercial transport sector.
