Transcorp Power Plc has earned praise from the Delta State Government following the successful graduation of 75 participants from its Vocational Skills Training and Entrepreneur Empowerment Programme (VSTEEP), reaffirming the company’s strong commitment to community upliftment and grassroots economic progress.
At the ceremony, which also welcomed a fresh set of trainees, the company unveiled an expanded bursary initiative that now supports nine undergraduate students from its host communities—an increase from the earlier three beneficiaries. The state government commended Transcorp Power for its steady investment in human capital development and encouraged the graduates to embody discipline, integrity, and leadership as they embark on their entrepreneurial paths.
Company executives described the event as a testament to resilience and advancement, noting that each graduate demonstrates how access to practical skills can drive economic transformation. The programme equips participants with employable skills and entrepreneurship training across trades such as tailoring, carpentry, and catering, enabling them to build sustainable livelihoods and contribute meaningfully to community development.
Transcorp Power also highlighted key community impact projects executed in the past two years, including transformer repairs, provision of classroom furniture, donation of ICT equipment, fencing and safety upgrades for a local school, reconstruction of a collapsed culvert, and extension of an electricity distribution network to a growing community.

The ceremony also honoured exceptional past beneficiaries who have successfully built thriving micro-enterprises, showcasing the programme’s long-term impact on income generation and small business growth within the host communities.
Through the VSTEEP initiative, held twice annually, residents of Transcorp Power’s host communities receive training tailored to local needs. Graduates are provided with starter capital and mentorship to help establish their businesses—support that has empowered hundreds of individuals to gain financial independence and expand micro-business ventures over the years.
The graduation of the 12th and 13th cohorts, alongside the induction of the 14th, drew traditional rulers, community leaders, government representatives, and other key stakeholders, demonstrating the programme’s broad reach and increasing relevance. With over a decade of consistent implementation, the initiative has positioned Transcorp Power as a major catalyst for sustainable development through direct investment in people and the strengthening of community economies.
Transcorp Power Plc, a leading power generation company in Nigeria and a subsidiary of Transnational Corporation Plc, continues to assert that its mission extends beyond electricity production to include empowering communities and accelerating economic advancement through targeted social impact initiatives.
